New Community Builder Award at the KW Business Excellence Awards Gala

KW Business Excellence Awards Gala

Over 900 members attend this marque event hosted by the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber of Commerce every year.

The annual Business Excellence Awards Gala, which takes place Thursday, February 20th at Bingamans, celebrates local businesses who “have made exceptional contributions through their involvement and leadership in the community.”

Since day one, 60 years ago, Heffner’s has been a huge supporter of the community we all call home, sponsoring local charities, partnering with local groups, and doing what we can, when we can to be a piece of the puzzle, making Kitchener-Waterloo the awesome place that it is. Just follow the #KWAwesome hashtag if you need further evidence of this.

Since 2020 marks our 60th anniversary, it only seemed fitting to take our community involvement one step further, and recognize other businesses who believe in supporting Waterloo Region as much as we do.

This year’s KW Business Excellence Awards Gala has a total of 14 awards that will be handed out, including a new one, “Community Builder of the Year Award” sponsored by Heffner Lexus Toyota.

This recognition will be awarded to an outstanding business or organization that, in the past year, has:

  • Supported charitable or not-for-profit organization on an on-going basis. It demon
  • Demonstrated a willingness to make the community better
  • Demonstrated a vision of a better community and has taken steps to make it happen
  • Practiced good corporate citizenship
  • Made exceptional contributions by promoting community betterment

These are traits that we hold dear to our heart, and ones we practice year after year. That’s why it’s so exciting for the Heffner family to see others who do the same and take similar actions to continue to make Kitchener-Waterloo the place that it is today.

Without further ado, here are the first-ever nominees for the “Community Builder of the Year Award:

Good luck to all, and thank you for being so involved in our community.
