Our community partners are so important to us. The work they do locally helps make Waterloo Region the place it is; one we’re proud to call home.
Centre in the Sqaure
One of our community partners is Centre in the Square, which Heffner’s is proud to be the Season Sponsor of, and has been involved with them, in some fashion or other, for 30 years.
The Centre in the Square is a not-for-profit organization that brings in countless acts to Waterloo Region ranging from the KW Symphony to concerts, plays, musicals and many other performances.
Recently, they invited us in for a behind the scenes look at this absolutely amazing venue. We had the opportunity to go backstage, up to the rafters where the stage lights are housed, behind the spotlights and projectors and so much more.

Christkindl Market
The Christkindl Market is another community partner Heffner’s is proud to have and they’re now gearing up for their annual seasonal run.
This year, the award-winning and free festival runs from Thursday, December 5th to Sunday, December 8th, inside and out of Kitchener City Hall.
“Every Christmas, since medieval times, towns and cities across Germany come alive with the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas.”
The Christkindl Market replicates those traditions here in Kitchener with over 100 vendors that range from food to crafts and everything in between.
What you can expect:
- Wooden Huts in the Market’s Village and down along King Street
- Choirs, Bands and Dance Groups
- Horse Drawn Carriage Rides
- Train Room
- Blacksmith Demonstrations
- Christmas Trees for sale

The Christkindl Market is a wonderful family event that is sure to put you in the Christmas spirit.
