60 Years of Heffner

Birthdays are more fun when you celebrate them with your friends, so on Sunday, September 27 we celebrated our 60th birthday, COVID style, with more than 400 of our closest friends — our Guests. We hosted a drive thru event, allowing Guests to visit us and participate in activities without ever leaving their vehicle!

Driving under a whimsical balloon arch, Guests were greeted by Nick and John Heffner, and given brochures detailing Heffner’s 60 years of business.

As they made their way forward, they enjoyed the musical performance of Juneyt, an award winning musician popular in the KW Region, the GTA, and beyond.

What kind of party hosts would we be without food? Morning Glory made charcuterie boxes for all of our Guests, comprised of cheese and crackers, pepperettes and salami, red pepper jelly, pickles, and olives.

Next, we channeled Bob Barker and hosted a good old fashioned game of Plinko. Guests selected a number between one and four and one of our volunteers dropped a Plinko chip in that slot. Whatever prize the chip landed on at the bottom of the board is what our lucky Guests got to take home with them!

As they drove on, Guests were able to listen to Jesse Webber serenade them with bluesy tunes, both new and old. 98.5 CKWR came along in their cruiser to help us celebrate as well!

Next, two of our team members handed out reflective reusable bags — here’s to hoping kids will be able to use them to trick or treat safely!

Driving forward, Guests got to enjoy some African Reggae fusion, brought to you by a local KW group, Ekhaya Music.

We had more prizes to give away, so Guests had the chance to Spin to Win! From mugs to camp chairs, we had some fun Heffner branded gifts to give away!

Finally, Willy and Steven Heffner bid our Guests farewell with a 60th Anniversary sugar cookie from Little Mushroom Catering as a parting gift!

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us, and to all of our Guests for being the reason we are where we are today! To see the event first hand, check out the video below!
